Best known for his furniture designs made of steel rods depicting people, John Risley was also a very skilled sculptor, artist and educator. During a period in the 1960s, Risley created sculptures made out of carved and cut redwood. This piece was purchased in 2018 from an antique dealer that acquired it directly from the family of John Risley.
Vintage estate condition. Mostly good overall condition, with some areas of plywood separation in a concentrated area. Unrestored condition. Unmarked, with some writing on back appearing to read “26 lbs”. Can be mounted horizontally or vertically. Current configuration set for vertical display.
